Alright, so the fine people at ABC made a show worth a shit finally. Life on Mars is a show about detective Sam Tyler, a cop from the year 2008, who has an accident. He wakes up in 1974, doing the same job. Now this may sound a little out there and cheesy, but Tyler still has all his future knowledge, which he tries to impliment from time to time. The other officers have named him "Space Man" because of his crazy stories.
The music and clothes and cars are just so damn awesome. They're a grungy take on retro style, making everything feel more real and modern while having a distinct vintage look. They drain the color in all the shots to have a burnt orange kinda feel. It's really great artistic approach to make everything seem more dated.
I highly recommend you check this show out if you're into retro things, time travel, and crime shows. It's kind of like Dragnet meets CSI where the whole cast bends the rules to get the job done.

This sounds much cooler than the ads made it look when the show first came out. I haven't seen it, but maybe I'll take a look.
